Hey papa. You don't know me. You passed before you got to meet my mother who is up with you at this moment. Your sons have done so much in your time gone. Grandma (your daughter-in-law) just got her leg amputated and grandma Kelly who is with you now lived to be almost 104! Give Grandma and Grandpa Kelly a hug for me.

Your son Bobby recently retired for the second time. Bobby is a good man you would be proud of, and a great friend to all who were fortunate to have worked with him. I enjoyed all those years and learned a lot from him. Continue to watch over Bobby in his retirement and your fellow Officers of the Thin Blue Line. No matter how many years have passed, you have NOT been forgotten by your fellow Texas DPS Troopers or ordinary citizens like myself.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 70th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
