I am your grandson, Lawrence M. Harnett, the fifth of six children of your older son, Lawrence T. Harnett. Despite the fact that my father was only 11 years old when you died, he always spoke of you with great love, excitement and pride. I, too, always like to brag to family members and friends about the fact that my Grandpa was a NYC police officer. I especially enjoyed sharing this fact with my children when they were young and viewed police officers as "larger than life" heroes.
You gave your life in the line of duty working in the world's most noble profession and wearing the uniform of the world's greatest police force. You have left a legacy of extremely proud children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thank you for your service . . . I wish so much that I had been given the opportunity to meet you.
Rest In Peace with Grandma (someone who loved you with all her heart right until the day she died at the ripe old age of 93.
God Bless.
Larry

Your heroism and service is honored on this 82nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminisher respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
