Hero, you are never forgotten, as a Boston resident, I honor you. Thank you for your service hero. This past Sunday in South Boston we had our glorious parade and my family was reminded of the dedicated law enforcement officers that make up our police department. We are very thankful for the men and women of C-6 barracks and the troop hotel barracks of MSP that do so much for our immediate neighborhood and all of the heroes that our keeping us safe. Grandpa Hanley - Your Great Grand Son Michael just graduated from the Police Academy and was sworn in on Monday December 22,2014 by the Framingham Police. Michael is the 4th of your grandsons to follow in your foot steps as Michael's two briothers - Joe and Jay are also Framingham Police Officers and your Grandson Rob is a Police Officer with the Dover Police Department.

Its been a great couple years being able to see your great grand children follow in your footsteps. I write to ask that you watch over the family, the entire family. Even though I know not much about you, I do know the continuous positive impact you have on your family. You would be incredibly proud. While not with us you have still been able to be an influential remodel to all of your family. And there is nothing better than a honorable legacy. These boys live for what they do and love doing it. You know what they say the man is a reflection of his woman and I'm not going to lie, it takes a strong woman to stand nice and tall next to them;) With the help of God please guide and protect them. May they come home to the people who love them. May your great grand children never forget you and always remember you and may we have men and women in our family continuously making such a positive impact in the commonwealth.

In our family, you are remembered as a man of many titles (Dad, Grampa, Great-Grampa, etc). But I speak for the entire family when I say that no title bears more meaning, or brings us more pride, than that of "Police Officer". Your work ethic, passion, selflessness and sense of duty has been passed along from generation to generation. Grampa Hanley, you can rest comfortably knowing that your conviction for serving society with dedication and integrity has been inherited by your great grand kids. Though you were blessed to have had those 7 extra years with your family before you succumbed to your injuries, I’m sure those were far from good years over all.
