This is my great-great-great grandfather. I just found this article today. What an amazing person he must have been. His great grandson; my grandfather was also a policeman, and luckily he survived a gunshot wound to him. What an honor it is to be related to someone such as this man! RIP grandfather Henry.

This is my great grandfather on my mother's side. Even though I grew up knowing I had detectives and police officers in my family history, I just found out about six months ago, that Patrolman Hennekes was a relative. I am so proud of him and wish that I would have known him. I am a criminal justice major with hopefully going on to law school to work with the prosecutor. I wish that I had started college earlier because I would have like to have gone on to the police academy. RIP Patrolman Hennekes, my great grandfather.
