Today, the 100th anniversary of the sacrifice of your life, we the citizens of the United States commend you on your service. This day, January 12, 2017, is also the day an armed citizen came to the aid of a Arizona State Trooper, killing the man who assaulted and shot the trooper who was investigating an accident. We are grateful for Marshall Hake and the as-yet unnamed trooper, both of whom stood tall in the Thin Blue Line--brothers in blue.

My cherished son Larry Laslater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Marshal Hake,
On today, the 92nd anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Covington. It took another six months, but your murderer finally got the justice that he deserved.
