Thomas sounds like a lovely man. I'm a Detective Garda in Ireland and have no doubt there is some family tree connection along the line.

Thomas Hackett was my grandfather. Married to Delia Fihily. I never met him. Heard only the stories of his heroic day being shot in the line of duty in NYC. He and his wife immigrated from Ireland. My grandmother Delia was such a lovely woman that I can only imagine her heartache and pain.
Antoinette Lydon I guess this makes us cousins. Thank you all for your kind comments about my grandfather. I never knew this site existed. Thank you to who ever created it.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 75th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
