I am retired now after 30 years. There are certain instances and days that stick out in my mind as I look back over them.
One day that I still remember vividly is when I had your great grandson in the back of my car at an accident scene and he told me that you had been a Columbus Police Officer and had been killed in the line of duty. I brought this page up on the computer in my police car and he told me it was the first time he had seen a picture of you. It doesn’t matter what year we all served, we are all brothers.
Rest in peace, brother

He was a hero in our family that many of us never got the honor to know. We were robbed of his presence, as he was robbed of a future family. I am proud of my great uncle for his service.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 82nd anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
