Reflections for Captain Malcolm E. Grass

I still remember this somber day when I was 16 years old. I came home from school and my father told me the news. I am proud to be a member of the Sheriff's Department now. Let's hope that we will never have to add another deputy's name to this list.

Malcolm,
ODMP was developed many years after your death so you do not have many reflections. If people only knew how well respected you were by so many. Your funeral was attended by hundreds from many states. We miss you and that ornery smile. Thanks for looking over us as we continue the deed.

Malcolm,
1986 seems like yesterday. Thanks for always taking the time to stop and shoot the bull when I was working in that quite little town of Shirley. I think of you often, you are missed but never forgotten. You were a hero to me and to many people. You always took the time to help and never said know to assisting a fellow officer. You are missed and loved by many. Your Nephew Shawn has inherited many of your excellent qualities and is passing them on to his sons. God Bless to Kerry, Mark and Carolyn and all of your family. We will never forget you and thanks for looking over us.
