Reflections for Patrolman Edward E. Gobin

Patrolman Gobin, it has been 92 years since you were taken from us. New England law enforcement has continued to thrive, learn and become safer due to the traditions and sacrifices you, your family, and many others have made for us. Thank you for the legacy of police and corrections you have left, and your 18 years of law enforcement service.

Brother Gobin,

I am a police officer serving the same community you served all those years ago. I see your photo and name on the wall during every shift I work. Although the names and faces of our brothers and sisters actively serving are constantly changing, your name and face will never be forgotten. May you continue to rest peacefully. We got it from here.

Great Great Grandfather,

I have had your picture hung up on my wall for years, with my grandmother presenting the flag at your memorial service and Vigil for Gobin and Charles V. Sciolto. I am currently in the Police Academy, and all Student Officers are writing reports on fallen Police Officers. I of course picked you, my great great Grandfather. God bless you, and forever rest in peace.

Brother Gobin

I just found this web site and discovered you had no reflection. You certainly deserve one. I am an Attleboro Police Officer and I attended the ceremony in Washington DC the day your name was etched onto the wall of the Law Enforcement Memorial. I have been an Attleboro Police Officer for 28 years and my two sons are Timothy Jr. and Matthew are also Attleboro Police Officers serving the citizens of Attleboro. You gave the ultimate sacrifice to the citizens of Attleboro and your death has not gone un-noticed by my-self and other past and present Attleboro Police Officers. I hope that some citizens of Attleboro discover this site and add a reflection and recognize your death while serving their city. Rest in Peace brother.

Respectfully Yours,
Timothy Cook Sr., Detective
