How great it was to find this memorial to my grandfather who died in the line of duty almost 80 years ago. I think my mom was only 3 when it happened. I can't imagine how hard it was for my grandmother and my mom and aunts and uncles. I wish I could have met you. You are a hero to our family and we will always remember you.

JUST FOUND THE SITE..GEORGE GERHARD WAS MY FATHER, AND WE WERE LEFT FATHERLESS WHEN I WAS 4 AND MY SISTER WAS 2. HE HAS ALWAYS LIVED ON IN OUR LIFE, AS THE HERO THAT HE WAS. MOTHER WAS 24, WHEN THIS HAPPENED. IWANT TO THANK PHYLLIS LOYA, FOR HER REFLECTION, AND AM PRAYING FOR HER AND HER SON, LARRY, ANOTHER HERO. GOD BLESS ALL THE FALLEN POLICEMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 79th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
