Reflections for Undersheriff Clarence Bunch Fugate
No passage of time can ever erase your service and sacrifice. Rest in peace always.

Recently, I was commended with a legacy award. The Clarence Fugate Community Service Award, issued by the JCSO in your honor. I learned a lot in the following days as I read up on your history and service, not just as a Colorado Peace Officer but as a soldier in WWI.
Legacy, is all we have. It's important to remember it and to pass it on. I promise, I'll tell as many about your story as will listen.
Thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for your service.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 71rst anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Rest In Peace

Undersheriff Fugate - Two Fridays ago, I stood in the State Assembly chamber, when your name was one of the almost 250 read off during a motion regarding next month's Police Memorial Week. We will, at that time, wear our mourning bands in memory of all who have fallen in service to our communities. Thank you for your service to the people of Jefferson County and the State of Colorado. May God grant you eternal rest and may His perpetual light shine upon you.

Undersheriff Fugate,
On today, the 67th anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Jefferson County. The piece of scum that murdered never got to leave prison and died there-at least a life sentence in your time meant a life sentence.
R.I.P.
