Reflections for Detective Alton Fritcher

My father, Arthur LaVigne, and my brother, Gary LaVigne both retired from Flint P.D. My dad was on duty the night you were taken. May God bless you for your service and sacrifice. Rest in Peace.

Your Great-grandson and Great-granddaughter are both a year older, Dad and I speak often of you and how things would be different if you were still here with us. I can't help but to feel the void that has effected our family by you not being here. You can take comfort in knowing that you are thought of often, missed, and in our prayers. Love, Your Family

Uncle Al, I just found out today about this site. I was old enough to remember you well. You spent alot of times out to our house and I remember times many of the family spent up on Pratt's Lake in Gladwin at Grandma & Grandpa Fritcher's cabin. What I remember most is the obvious love and respect that Daddy had for you. I felt there was a love between you and a firm bond as brothers . I remember when Daddy told me you had been shot. I remember him and many others in the family went to donate blood. It was a nightmare for Daddy when you died. I have not let your sacrifice be forgotten to my children. They grew up hearing of how you gave your life so others could be safe. I think of you so often. I thank you for the sacrifice you made and am so sorry for the price your family paid with the loss of you. I love you.
