Your heroism and service is honored today, the 110th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace, Elmo.

To Larry Frie, thanks for posting your reflection. Your family seems to have a long tradition of protecting and serving.

Elmoe Frie was born September 21, 1872. His father was Jonathan W. 'Dick' Frie. I had Jonathan's family Bible. That bible is now in the possession of Rickie Lynn Frie, a Baplist minister in Jenks, Oklahoma. Elmoe Frie wife was Sarah Elizabeth Hayes. Elmoe and Sarah had two children, Bailey and Ollie.

Elmoe Frie had a brother, Edgar Frie. Edgar was also from Charleston Missouri. It was my understanding that Edgar was also a police officer for Charleston. I also was led to believe he died in the line of duty December 10, 1901. Edgar was married to one Bessie G. Finney.

I am a cousin of both Elmoe and Edgar. There brother and my great grand father, William Giles Frie were brothers.

I'm also a retired City of St Louis Missouri Police Officer. I served the City of St Louis from 1964 to 1994.
