Our Dear Bob,

Thirteen years ago today you you passed away.
It is heartbreaking to think of how tradgically your life ended. There is not a day that goes by where a prayer is not said for you.
Justice will be served.
May you rest in peace.
Please Bob, send John strength.

Love, Mindy

Remembering that night and the scene. All of us in hurried haste and not sure where to go. Then we heard, over Police Radio. Injuries, assist officer, Limkilin...which we knew then was the pike. Just seconds late, which will haunt forever those that were there in the Thirty Fifth that nite. Somehow catching the killer was not near enough. Effort's to save Both of you was not nearly enough, even with the help of a medicly trained civilan, that showed no hesitation what so ever to try to save two police officers lives that nite. People she did not know and from a neighborhood you might not extpect. But we were then and always will be grateful. That nite, she became one of us. I cannot nor will not call any name's because of a potential retrial thats beginning here and now. But i can say this. We will never forget you nor let your death be in vain. We will never let his evil triumph over the good in those brave men simply doing their job's that nite. We will be there to ensure that justice is done again and again, No matter how long nor how many times it takes. Rest easy my brother's, our work is not yet done!

DEAR BOB,
HAVE NO FEAR, MARCH 6 WE WILL ALL BE THERE TO HONOR YOU.
THIS BASTARD WILL NOT GET A NEW TRIAL.
YOU AND JOHN DID NOT HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO BARGAIN FOR YOUR LIVES,
WHY SHOULD HE??
YOU WILL BE THERE FOR YOU MY FRIEND.

February 25, 2006

BOB,
THIS IS FOR YOU

CLASS 267 WAS THE NUMBER THEY'D BE
THAT MARCH DAY THEY ENETERED THE POLICE ACADEMY
SOON AFTER THAT 2 DREAMS CAME TRUE
AS YOU SAW 2 HANDSOME HEROES IN BLUE
TO SERVE AND PROTECT WAS WHAT BOB AND JOHN WANTED TO DO- AND DID AS YOU SAW
TILL A COWARD CAME ALONG AND DECIDED NOT TO OBEY THE LAW
TODAY WE ARE HERE WHERE THE TWO MEN ONCE LIED
BOTH DYING WAITING FOR HELP TO ARRIVE
THANK YOU TO THE PEOPLE THAT CAME TO THEIR AID
YOU GAVE THEM A CHANCE
NOT ENOUGH THANKS CAN BE SAID
AN EMPTINESS IN OUR HEARTS WILL FOREVER BE
BECAUSE TO JOHN, MYSELF AND JOEY
YOU ARE FAMILY
LET'S ALL SAY A PRAYER FOR BOB HAYES TODAY
AS IN HEAVEN YOU CANNOT PRAY FOR YOURSELF THEY SAY
I HOPE WE ALL GET A MESSAGE TODAY
THANK GOD FOR THE GIFT YOU WERE GIVEN- TODAY- by mm2005

a family that loves and misses you

I am a Police Officer that worked the 35th District as did you but I didn't get on the job until 1997. I've heard from other veteran officers about how aggressive you and your partner were and I would like to think that we would have gotten along well together "pinching" badguys. I hope one day that we will meet and we can trade cop "war" stories together...until then...God bless.

I have had the honor of meeting your nephew who is attempting to be a fellow police officer in the Act 120 Police Academy. He told me of your story. God Bless you and all that you stood for. I know you will watch over your nephew as he walks the beat. Thank you for your selfless service to humanity. God Bless your family.

A fallen officer should not be without a reflection.
As you walk your beat in heaven remember that you are missed and you will not be forgotten.
Rest easy Hero.
