Your heroism and service is honored today, the 88th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace.

Patrolman Fortenberry even though we are distantly related, we are connected. I am married to a Police Officer and each year we remember Georgia Officers killed in the line of duty with a motorcycle ride. Your passing is remembered in a book my family printed on the Fortenberrys. I also touch your name each year in DC.
You are not forgotten.
