Thank you, great-grandpa Edward for your sacrifice--you are my hero! Your son (Grandpa Mert) grew to be a loving husband and father, and a kind grandpa. The city of Elk River has not forgotten your sacrifice. With loving prayers that you are with our Heavenly Father.
A loving granddaughter

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 90th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Deputy Foley,
Our department has grown since you left us, nearly 90 years ago now. I have read your story on ODMP before, but thought about you last night when I had a close call that brought me a little closer to you. Rest in peace, you will NOT be forgotten!
