I came across a book "Murder in the City" New York 1910-1920. It's a collection of several glass plate negatives found while demolishing the old NYPD headquarters. There is a crime scene photo of Officer Flood's murder. He was summoned to an apartment for a domestic. The male, a boxer named Milton Bleier, was able to disarm the officer and beat him to death. Bleier, an alleged pimp fled and was arrested six months later in Baltimore. He allegedly took a plea deal for 20 years. Officer FLood worked at the Sixty-seventh St. Station, was married and had three children. He's buried in Calvary Cemetery in Queens. RIP Officer.

I will climb 102 flights at One World Trade Center on June 4, remembering John Flood and raising funds for catastrophically injured first responders. He is the grandfather of my cousin Maureen O'Grady and was survived by his wife and 3 small children when he was killed in 1917.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
GOD Bless

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 95th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
