Great Great Grandfather Richard,
I am proud to be your great great grandson. Your strong blood flows through all of the Fitzgerald men that your legacy has left on this earth. I am filled with a great honor to have the same blood coursing through my veins. As another person stated in a reflection, we have never forgotten you and are all extremely proud. Thank you for the gift of my life and for your service , sir. Would have loved to have known you personally, but this brings me closer to knowing you and our legacy.
Rest in peace sir
Your Great Great Grandson,

My Great Great Granfather Richard, although I did not know you, having found you and seeing your picture fills me with a great pride knowing that you gave your life to keep our city safe. I am also a Fitzgerald, and I carry that name with honor, as my father before me. Thank you for your service and passing your strong blood that flows through all of us Fitzgerald men and women that your legacy has beared. I hope you would be proud of the man I am and I strive to be everyday.
Rest in peace sir,

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 114th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

I ran into your decended family members at your grave last year in Metarie Cemetery placing flowers \"lillies\" on your plot. They were very proud of you. In SPITE of 106 years having passed, they HAD NOT forgotten.
