Capt. Farr,
On today, the 80th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served during World War I. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

I think of you often Grandaddy. I refer to you as Grandaddy....I like to think that I would have called you that if I had been able to meet you. You were killed long before I was born. And my daddy...your son “Bobby”... was killed when I was 4. Both of you were servants to the community. And I’m so proud and honored to be your granddaughter. Til we meet soon on that grand reunion day in heaven....I love you.

I was only a child when we lost you Dad, but there are bits and pieceswawaw I can remember. I can remember sitting at the hospital with Mom andBobby to see if you were going to make it. Sadly you did't but you left a heartbroken family behind. Mom said she had never seen so many tears come out of one person as she did Mommy that day. Mom, Mommy and Bobby are in heaven with you now and it won't be long before I'll be joining you. Your going away too soon changed everyone's life drastically and we'll always miss you.I'll always love you and you'll always be my hero. Your daughter, Mary Anne

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 68th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace

I'm honored to be in your family. Your brother was my grandfather. I didn't know you but I honor your memory and the sacrifice you made. My father, Frances Michael Farr, tells me your picture still hangs in the Waycross courthouse and about the man who worked with you who then worked in the courthouse for years after the incident. I'm going to visit the courthouse to see your picture and hopefully post it here. Someone will be riding in your honor in the Police Unity Tour in May, 2009. I can't wait to meet you in Heaven. Until then...
Lord you have called several of ours home to glory,
The race with life for them is now done.
Peace, blessed peace, in safety, forever now with Thee,
Welcome rest, now in heaven for all of eternity.
May time never erase the sacrifices that were made,
May no officer ever fall alone, to lie cold in their grave .
May those of us still serving, remember well the price they paid, May their memories stand forever as those who went down brave.
Lord give us courage to carry on, to still live and care,
To not be vengeful or bitter, to simply trust Your word it true.
May we always cover with pride the shield we wear,
To honor all fallen officers, whom we now commend to you.

I am a grandchild that you will never meet because of your bravery. I know that you loved your job because Granny Farr told me so. One day I will meet you and you can tell me all about your exciting life. Tell Granddaddy C.C. that I don't fish like a girl.

Captain Farr, I will forever remember the sacrifice you made that night in 1944. My grandfather was the other officer shot with you in this incident. It rendered him blind and in total darkness until his death 58 years later. You, on the other hand, were robbed of life in such a senseless and cold hearted way. Thank you for paying the ultimate price. We will not forget.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003). Unfortunately, I had to add the name of another friend. Deputy Jeffrey Hewitt, Buncombe County (NC) Sheriff’s Department, E.O.W. April 4, 2004.
We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.
Captain Farr, you are remembered on this date of your death. You will always be remembered.
These are senseless tragedies that never seem to stop. God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.
...Gone, but never Forgotten....
