Amanda...not quite sure of the connection but my name is Matt O’Brien. I was 8 years old living in St. Louis with my parents and siblings in May 1962. My mom and Dad were both from Brooklyn and I remember that day in 1962 when the news of your Great Grandfather’s murder reached my dad and mom...it was the day of my First communion. They were both devastated. I’m pretty sure we’re somehow related. My dad's dad was Sylvester Mullvahill O’Brien and my dad was Sylvester Vincent O’Brien. They both talked about Budd Lake and I remember seeing pictures of a party at the lake, probably your GGF’s house. For me, this has all come up again because of the series Blue Bloods where your GGF’s murder is mentioned. I’m so sorry you never got to know Joe, I know even now after all these years that by joe profoundly sad my mom and dad were upon hearing the news, that your GGF was an awesome man. Email or call me...I would love to understand our connection. [email protected] 720.317.7586. I live in Denver.
RIP Joe

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 50th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace

Detective Luke Fallon, I didn't have the opportunity to meet you, but have heard of you and met your wonderful family. I am currently working in the 70th Precinct where you once worked and ended your tour of duty. As we prepare another year for your memorial anniversary, we remember you on this fiftieth year, with our Annual Prayer. Thank you for your service and Sacrifice. May you rest in Peace.

Luke Fallon was my great-grandfather, and although I knew he was killed in the line of duty, until recently I did not know how loved and cherished he was. It amazes me how even over forty years later, everyone still shares stories of just what kind of man an officer he was. I am sure that he woke up every morning knowing that if he died that day, he would be dying doing what he loved. Now that I am a senior in high school, I hope to ensue a career in criminal justice, and maybe become half the man that Detective Fallon was. God Bless everyone that still remembers, all my love, Amanda Fallon Scheibner

Joe was one of the nicest men I have ever met. I will always remember him sitting at the player piano in his Budd Lake home, playing and singing to entertain everyone.
He was my dad's (Charlie Gray) best friend. The first time I ever saw my dad cry, was in our living room when he heard the news about Joe.
Gone by not forgotten.

Joe was my mentor as I entered the Police Dept. We vacationed each weekend with him in Budd Lake NJ. The day he was killed he stopped by my house to let me know he had a cab detail and would be leaving early for Budd Lake. He never made it. I heard the tragic news over the radio before anyone had been notified. It was devastating. It was my privelege to be honor guard at his wake. He was a great man and will never be forgotten.

Joe Fallon was a dear friend of my father, Charlie Gray. When Joe was shot through the heart, my Dad said Joe's heart was so big, it would be hard to miss. You left us too soon.
