Reflections for Patrolman James Edward "Red" English

Patrolman English,

On today, the 75th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

I was 6 years old when I saw Officer English get shot behind my home on Ransom St During the police standoff. I still remember that event and his name but I don’t remember my neighbors name other than Ray. Thank you for your service .

Patrolman English,
On today, the 69th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the USN during WW II-especially considering that today is Veterans Day. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 61rst anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service to my home state and the birthplace of my son. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Your murderer served less time than you lived. That doesn't see fair. Rest In Peace
