Reflections for Patrol Officer Charles C. Dunham
Rest in peace Officer Dunham.

How disgraceful that the scum who murdered you and kidnapped your partner was acquitted. WHY? I can't think of anyone who could rationally explain this.
Regardless, Officer Dunham, we mourn you still after all this time. You are NOT forgotten by us, though the courts may have forgotten you.
God Bless and may your eternal rest remain Peaceful for all eternity.

Charles.....I met your daughter today, she is a fine, beautiful woman, you'd be proud of her. Your great sacrifice, for your community and your country, by giving your life to help others will never be forgotten. I will pray for you and your family. Rest in peace my brother.

What a travesty. I found this while expanding on my family history. If any relations see this feel free to contact me and I'll share what info I have.

Thank you and god bless the Gloversville PD. I'm so proud of my father's love and dedication to the department.
My dad is not only my hero, but the hero of many. He is fondly remembered and held in highest regard by many friends, and his family.
Life was forever changed, but we are thankful for the impact he had on others in his short twenty eight year life.

A travesty of justice shall not diminish your heroics, nor the dedication of your partner. Officer Dunham, you did your best to serve the people of your city and you are remembered on this 50th anniversary of your murder. You are a hero. If your partner is still living, I hope he realized long ago, it was NOT his fault. He was put in a horrible situation and did all he could.
Officer Dunham, I believe you have never left the side of your family and your daughter grew up KNOWING how much you loved her.
God Bless and may you forever rest in the peace of Heaven, Brother.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 47th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
When you were killed, I was seventeen and getting ready to go away to college. I had probably never given a thought to the dangers of your job but knew that the two law enforcement officers I knew were nice guys. It probably never entered my mind that these men faced the prospect of danger every day they protected my hometown. My understanding and appreciation for service and sacrifice has changed markedly.
Rest In Peace
