Ron Dean use to shop at the grocery store I worked at when he was off duty heading home. He always had the award winning smile and was kind to everyone. He loved serving his community. He set a high bar for Officers he is greatly missed. RIP....

I went to school at BPCC with Ron. He was also the bouncer @ Sports Page. He was a very friendly and personal man. I considered him a good friend. He is missed. RIP my friend

I worked with Officer Ron at Sports Page, attended classes with him in criminal justice at LSU-s. He passed away not long after I got back from serving in the Army after college. Sometimes you wonder why the good ones leave us early sometimes, only the Lord knows I guess. When a man as good as him works as hard as he did, has a wife, a kid, but I guess it is what you leave behind that shows your true legacy in life. I don't think anyone that knew him ever had a bad thing to say about him, and that's seldom found isn't it? Ron was a blessing to all he knew, and always will be. In heaven he will always be with the Lord.

I had graduated school and was working at Medic Pharmacy in Brookshire's on North Market when I learned of what happened. My wife and kids attended your service at Calvary as the whole city mourned your loss. I remember wrestling practice and hikes around Flag Lake on Barksdale. You were always smiling and always gave an encouraging word. You are missed.

28 years have gone by! I was honored to have led your Procession into Bossier City on the day we all laid you to rest! A great friend and fellow officer, gone too soon! We shared a friendship, of that I’m glad! I drop by and see you from time to time, just to say Hi! You’re missed Dino! Continue to Rest Easy!

so many more officers have joined you.... each time this happens I am taken back to 12-16-92. We weren't ready for you to go, we couldn't believe you were gone. So many years have gone by since you left. Our lives were changed forever. We still cry, we still grieve, we still miss you. We never thought we would be part of the group of survivors -- a group we never wanted to join. We miss you. We love you. Rest easy, Ron. See you on the flip side.

Thinking about you and your family today. Remember you living with Ms Alicia Barrett. You were always so nice. I remember the day you went to heaven. It was so surreal. You are still missed greatly by many people

I hate that I didn’t know you were gone until many years after. It just seemed impossible as I learned the details and realized that you were taken away so long ago. Today on the 25th anniversary of your End of Watch, the impact is no less than it was all those years ago. You were every bit the “gentle giant” that many describe you as. I also remember your sense of humor...you were always so quiet and reserved, but when you said or did something funny, it was impossible not to laugh with you. Test easy old friend.
