To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 51rst anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I never got to know him, and neither did my mother (his oldest daughter). From what I have been told though, he was a great man. I hope he would be proud to know that his granddaughter is following in his footsteps and is becoming an officer as well!

FORTY-SEVEN YEARS HAVE PASSED, YET WE CAN NEVER ALLOW OURSELVES TO FORGET THE SACRIFICE THIS BRAVE YOUNG MAN MADE. MAY HE REST IN PEACE AND MAY HIS FAMILY, WHERE EVER THEY MAY BE, FIND COMFORT IN KNOWING THAT WE STRIVE TO KEEP HE AND THE OTHERS IN OUR THOUGHTS.

"Charlie" was the epitome of the phrase, "an Officer's Officer".
He was calm, soft spoken, knew the difference between the letter of the law, and the spirit of the law. As most of us, he loved to joke and laugh, but was very serious about law enforcement, especially traffic. Most never knew it, but Charlie was a DJ on a local radio station that played classical music. As was the practice in those days, he worked an extra job to provide extra for his family.
His accident and death caused some changes in procedure and equipment useage for the Motor Scouts in the Traffic Division. He was a good man and a good Officer.
