Reflections for Deputy Sheriff James J. Drahota
Rest in peace Deputy Sheriff Drahota. Wow! Leaving behind a widow with 9 children certainly a very heroic and dedicated man.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 41rst anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.
My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I truly appreciate your sacrifice. Your grandson, Sean was a very good friend of mine while we were in the Marine Corps together. I know that he was very proud of your service.

I was born a short few days before your death. I wish I would have had the chance to know you. Through close relationships with uncles and aunts and of course my father I feel I have an understanding of who you may have been.
The second tragedy in your death was not having that relationship with you, the opportunity to simply talk or laugh. That meeting will occur at some point and with a warm feeling, I look forward to that.
God bless....
