Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Patrolman Norman K. Dixon

The unforgotten.....I carry your badge today (#17649) as my mom carried it throughout her life in love, remembrance and honor of a man, her Dad, who was taken when she was but a little girl. All of your children are with you now so rest easy as your legacy will continue to live on through your grand and great grand children!

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 71rst anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

I said a little prayer today for Patrolman Dixon and his family. He may be gone but never forgotten. He will always be a New York HERO.

My dad, whose name was the same as Patrolman Norman K. Dixon's, was born the same year as Patrolman Dixon, grew up partly in New York City where Patrolman Dixon served, and also went into law enforcement, as a Texas Ranger. I feel a kinship with Patrolman Norman K. Dixon, regret his untimely death, and hope he rests in peace.

Kemp Dixon
Same name and age as my dad.
