Daddy: as your 39th death anniversary is approaching I want to tell you that I miss you every so much. I still remember the night before you stopped by the house to drink your usual up of black coffee and before you left you said: everybody come here and give a hug in case I don’t comeback.
Those words have been stuck in my head since then, I miss cuddling with you during the weekends, I miss helping you when you used to clean your gun, I miss brushing your hair and your mustache, I miss your face, I miss your voice, I miss your smell, I still can’t believe you’re gone. Live have been rough since you left but know that you’ve been by my side, I can scent the am cigarette smell, I can’t see you but I know you’re there. Thank you for being there for us, thank you for giving your life for all of us, thank you for your dedication, thank you for your service and thank you for being my DADDY.
I love you with everything I have, I wish you were here with me.
Your daughter,
Joseline

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 29th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace.
Rest In Peace.

Officer Diaz-Batista,
As one officer wrote in another fallen officer's reflection-"No fallen officer should be without a reflection." I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Puerto Rico.
