There is not a day that passes that I do not think of you. I miss you today as much as the day you left us. You were the best father a girl could ever have. We were so blessed to have you in our lives and will always be better for it. Thank you for watching over us and I can't wait to see again.
I love you,

Today I returned home after riding my police motorcycle from NJ to Washington DC with Law Enforcement United. I wore a memorial bracelet in honor of you Officer DeLeon. I took you on one last motorcycle ride. If anyone from Officer DeLeon’s family can contact me, I’d like to send the bracelet to you.

Remembering Ed today and all that he meant to his family. It still startles me each year when I celebrate my youngest child's birthday and I remember the sadness brought to a family and a city on this day 13 years earlier. Hal and family, we will never forget Ed and his sacrifice serving the Houston community. Forever in our hearts.

For some reason Ponce has been on my mind more in recent weeks... He and Pat were great friends of ours, (the Dunbars) His life was taken from us, much too soon... His passing changed us forever. As years have passed, lives have changed, children have grown up, marriages have ended, other friends have passed, but the years spent with Ponce as a friend are precious and the memories are cherished...

Officer Deleon was one of my training officers as a rookie police officer. His knowledge and personality helped a nervous, inexperienced police officer learn that not all persons are crooks, to trust your partner, and that your authority comes from the very people that you serve. He is truly missed.
