I remember my Mother's recollection of Grandpa Dean (Lynn's father) calling for life imprisonment for the killer. He though that was far worse punishment than death.

My mother, Theresa Roessler was married to Lynn at the time of his death and had my 3 year old half sister Lynnda. It was a horrifying time for my mother. She later remarried and had my brother Fred and I. Thank you all for your kind words.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 74th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Marshal Dean -

Mancos is such a picturesque, peaceful, valley between Cortez and Durango. My Grandfather was the town constable in the early 1980's. I drove through, just last summer and saw it mostly unchanged from my last visit 19 years earlier. I can only imagine what is was like when you did your duties there. May you rest in peace, and know that your flock is safe there.
