Thank you for your service and rest in peace always knowing that your sacrifice will always be remembered by your law enforcement brethren.

I grew up in DeKalb County adjacent to Gwinnett. I was 15 years old when these officers were killed. I remember it very well. 7 years later I joined the Atlanta Police Dept. I retired 44 years later after serving with three agencies. This incident was one of the reasons I decided to make a career of law enforcement. May you rest in peace and may your families know you did not did in vain. Without dedicated heroes like you no one would be safe.

I was a junior at Buford High School when this tragedy occurred. My father took me to the scene on Arc Way which was a dirt road about 10 miles from our house. I later became an officer with the Gwinnett County Police Dept and stayed with them until retirement after abt 30 yrs.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Officer Davis,
On today, the 42nd anniversary the murder of you and your fellow officers, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Gwinett County. I think it's a travesty of justice that your murderers were paroled.

Officer Davis, forty years after your passing, a citizen was waiting in our roll call room at one of our Gwinnett County PD precincts and saw the large framed newspapers covering your tragic death. She made snide comment of how we "apparently don't forget". I immediately turned around and told her in a very firm but professional voice, "Ma'am, we will NEVER forget." She made no comment, sat down and quietly waited, hopefully thinking about what I said.

I wanted to let you know, Officer Davis, that the officers and employees of the Gwinnett County Police Department thank you for your service and will remember your sacrifice.
