To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 56th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

Trooper George Richard Dancy,

You were a young guy and surely pround to have attained the position of trooper. Unfortunalely, like all of us who patrol the highways, the motor vehicle is a threat we rarely contemplate will be our enemy. A sign over the exit when leaving Fort Meade, Maryland says: "You are entering the most dangerous battlefield of all - a United States highway." So this is our lot -- to face many enemies. You have met the enemy. Died on duty. That makes you a hero. Another saying is: "True heroism is not the urge to supress all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever the cost." You have served others. Well done, trooper...well done.
