Like many I learned of the murder of Officer Dabling on Lt. Kenda's Homicide Hunter series. I get very emotional whenever I watch it. Your life and service is an inspiration to me and I will try to live up your example and epotimize the values you lived.

No words can ever express the PAIN & AGONY of the lives left behind the day Mark left Planet Earth. Such a hero. Left his Legacy. An impact with a good officer in blue. A good man so kind so young. Taken so soon. Such a huge sacrifice to know Mark lost his life during his Tour of Duty with others in the line of fire. Just watched this nightmare unfold with Detective Joe Kenda in Hawaii. May God comfort your loved ones & friends until you meet again.

I was a senior in High school when this tragedy happened. Officer Dabling frequented the restruant my family ran on Garden of the Gods and was known to be a super nice guy. I remember my dads anger at the shooting.
When I joined the Marine Corps later the next year and the recruiter asked me what I wanted to do I said I wanted to be a MP so maybe I could make a difference as you did. 35 years later. I never pass The blvd named after you with out saying a silent prayer

I watched the Lt. Joe Kenda episode where Officer Dabling was killed in the line of duty. Thank you Lt. Kenda and Investigation Discovery for bringing this, the everyday people, that make the choice to put their lives on the line every day for their teammates and their communities.

My dad was a CSPD Sgt when this happened. It was on Fillmore St., right in front of the Dairy Queen. Homicide Hunter doesn't quite portray that accurately. Also, it happened more toward evening than the middle of the day as portrayed on Joe Kenda's series. Dad knew Mark Dabling very well. Dad was present when they brought Vernon Templeman in to the jail.

For three years, I have attempted to get my charity "American COPS (Casualties Of Peacekeeping Service) ((as on facebook)). I need $4,000 to hire an attorney to complete my 501c3 Charity License. To date, I have yet to receive a donation. Officer Mark
Dabling is just the type of Officer whose family deserves this charity. If anyone can help, please refer to American COPS on Facebook to read why I founded this charity and God Bless You All.

The tributes of those who knew him best are a testimony of one of our local guys serving the community and taken way too soon. I think about Officer Dabling and the safety of our men and women in blue every time I drive on or by "his" road!

I recently watched the Officer Mark L. Dabling story as told by Homicide Detective Joe Kenda. Although it has been just over 35 years since his murder I found myself choking up and holding back tears. I myself have walked the "Thin Blue Line" for 22 years and have attended too many funerals of my brothers/sisters who also took the oath to protect and serve. Not all the funeral were Officers from my department but none the less I attended, cried for the officers and their families, and returned to work. The loss of honorable men like Officer Mark L. Dabling leaves a void in each department that can't be filled no matter how many new recruits follow. All we can do is mourn our officers and make sure that their deaths were not all in vain. To Officer Mark L. Dabling and the countless others that have follow. God Bless and RIP.
GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN.

Seeing the program about this wonderful man being killed by a hideous individual made my cry. I had been a police dispatch many years ago and then worked in medicine, seeing many senseless deaths. These police officers who look after us deserve the utmost respect from everyone. They put their lives on the line every day and do not get the full respect the deserve. I see you as an honorable and decent man. May you rest in peace.

I don't believe most people fully understand the danger law enforcement officers face on a daily basis, especially those who patrol our neighborhoods and streets every day. I wish you eternal peace, Officer Dabling.
