Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Patrolman Samuel T. Cunningham

No passage of time can ever erase your service and the sacrifice you made and know that you will never be forgotten.

Delaware State Police

Officer Cunningham is remembered in my family too. His wife was my mother's great aunt Helena, who left Ireland in 1908. Her sister was always reminding the family about Helena. I have wondered how she coped after Samuel's death. I was able to see his badge at the NYPD museum some years ago. I will be thinking of him and of her in June 2017. I know that one of his grandchildren was awarded a Bronze star in Vietnam. There's good stuff in that family still.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
GOD Bless

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 95th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I said a little prayer today for Patrolman Cunningham and his family. He may be gone but never forgotten. He will always be a New York HERO.
