Your Sacrifice will never be forgotten! Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. John 15:13

"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of GOD." Matthew 5:9

James Hardin Culpepper was my great-grandfather. His daughter, Velma, my grandmother, was six years old when her father was killed. The Meridian Police Department took up a collection and helped my great-grandmother to purchase a farm so that she could provide for her children, after her husband's death.

May you rest in peace.

great-granddaughter

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 100th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
