My Dad.....I miss you much. So many things I want to tell you, share with you. 10 years old; 32 years ago. I remember it as if it happened yesterday. The thought of your death is still emotionally challenging and very painful for me. The hurt is ever so present. A huge void...... a void that time has not healed.
I carry you with me wherever I go. I carry your soul, your spirit, your honor. I carry you with me.
Miss you dad.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family, friends and all the members of the Metro-Dade Police Department. We were made safer by his service and we all suffer their tragic loss. The family of Sergeant Crenshaw deserves our appreciation and gratitude for their sacrifice. No greater love has a man than the will to give his life for another. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Sergeant Crenshaw is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

I remember the incident like it was yesterday. Sergeant Crenshaw was a training officer of mine and I patently remember that last time I saw him at the academy he was wearing starched pressed blue dungarees, his shoes were highly shined, his large Afro made him look like a movie star righ out of Mod Squad. To this day I can see him sitting on the desk in that classroom teaching the recruits. He was one of my heros. Sincerely Sgt. Mike Kahn, 72-97

I knew Harry for a number of years and liked him a great deal. I recall being the Uniform Sergeant with a detail of Police Officers protecting the entrance to the Playboy Club on Miami Beach during the DNC or RNC in 1972. A hostile crowd of several thousand were approaching me and my dozen or so Officers when a number of Florida Highway patrol Trooper vehicles swooped in with lights and sirens blocking the Club entrance. Four or five Troopers came boiling out each of these patrol cars all armed with 4 ft riot batons and their charge into the crowd broke it up and dispersed it. I saw Harry Crenshaw who was Under Cover in the group running as fast as he could away from the Club and he had a huge grin on his face as he passed my position. He was being chased by a goliath of a Trooper who kept swatting at him with that riot baton. Harry kept running and smiling.
Less than a month before he was murdered Harry was assisting my Squad in executing a drug search warrant and making some arrests. We had a very cordial conversation that I still recall.
I remember good things about you Harry.
