Reflections for Patrolwoman Debra Sue Corr
Thank you for your service and for helping to make America a safer place.
Deputy Brian Jones
Boulder County Sheriff's Office, CO

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 31rst anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Thanks to your friends for sharing their devotion to you through their reflections.
I am also hopeful that the explore who was wounded was able to recover and lead a good and rewarding life.

Patrolwoman Corr - Your life has been highlighted by the reflections of your friends, family, and co-workers. I bless them for that.
Thanks for your service to both the people of Aroura and the State of Colorado. I stood in the State Assembly chambers, last Friday, when your name was read off during a resolution regarding the upcoming Peace Officer's memorial week. You, and the almost 250 others, are not forgotten.
May God grant you eternal rest and may His perpetual light shine upon you.

27 years later ... I still remember that night. Where I was, who I was with and the call coming out. All the thoughts and training never prepared us for "that night" or the memories that still linger. Deb was a co-worker and a friend. I hope I never forget. She still lives on in my memory.

I still get chills when I think about arriving on scene and seeing Deb on the ground, mortally wounded. I liked her as a dispatcher, liked her as a police officer, and loved her as a friend. Taken so early in life, and her loss was so tough to handle.
She will be remembered by this old horse as I trot into the land of the setting sun.

The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

I was the APD Explorer Commander when you and Glenn were shot. I remember driving to the hospital in the middle of the night. The song playing on the radio was "Someone saved my life tonight". I think of you every time I hear that song, even 26 years later. The memory of what happened that night made me want to be a better person. The effect that your death had on me helped me stay safe for over 18 years on the street. Thanks for never really leaving us...

Debra,
I knew you years ago when you first started. You were the reason I wanted to pursue a career in Law Enforcement when others thought I could not cut it.
After you death, I was devastated, as many were, but more determined than ever. I have never forgot you and was so pleased to find this wonderful site to honor you and other fallen officers. I hope your soul found eternal peace and you family is blessed in your memory.
I will always remember you!
An old friend.

My Dear Friend,
I just learned of this page when we lost another officer or I would have written sooner. You are missed so much - your friendship, your love of Jesus and your excitement for His plans for your life. He took you home, dear sister, where there is no more pain, sorrow or tears.
What a blessing you were to me, my family and anyone who knew you!
Your love of your job and enthusiasm for life were contagious. I know you are rejoicing in heaven and we will all be together one day singing in the choir with better voices than we had on earth!
Thank you for never compromising who you were and serving with integrity and honor.
Love and miss you always...
