A story of your worldly adventures in the police academy, Officer Cook, where the studious and serious survive the world of adversity. Talk and chatter are just idle. Pray and be loyal to those who have trained and practiced with those who have preached the very basic fundamentals. Dade County was a boiling pot of chaos and trouble on May 16, 1979, badge#1664 and its heroic honor and respect brought a new found integrity and dignity to those brawls on the roads. Never more character and assurance than when you toiled and labored for the articles of peace and quiet to filter through those waves of wickedness which you desperately tried to keep out. Air conditioning keeps buildings cool. Too bad all Dade County cannot have this on the streets to keep tempers and mayhem in place. To keep things in check one must have composure and courage which you had, Officer Cook, at all times along with some sense of reason and dignity, the integrity and heart of character to wage war with such an overwhelming foe. Dade County for six years of brave and heroic service had never more transparency. Trusted and true enhancement that keeps growing as does your legacy. A life well lived though cut too short by one man's wanton violence. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. You were most passionate and compassionate man for your times.

Before you carve your heroic niche let there be a ray of resolve and honesty, above all have integrity and be a dignified public servant who cherishes their roles in action. You acted decisively trying to stop a demented man from more harm than good. Police officers are constantly bombarded by information and danger. The roads and streets become harder to navigate around and a certain anticipation awaits those who bravely and honorably served their dignified positions of truth and trust. The highest regard for honesty and integrity, its ingenuity and intuition rounding those corridors to shake loose any evil. Only you, Officer Cook, were truly one of a kind. A peaceful man with a concerned heart who fought tooth and nail until your final breath of humility was expended to defeat this tyrant of a man. Where was his heart directed to ? Fortunately, Dade County and their citizens were under the finest care possible. Never again, Officer Cook and surely we won't forget your spirit of thanksgiving. The spirit is never attacked by anything in God's eternal home. Your physical presence, Officer Cook, returned to the earth where it came from. November 30, 1953 until May 16, 1979, was a life and career cemented by courage and honor, integrity and the fine skill of dignity that preserved life and property here in Dade County. Such a large area full of some goodness and evil that was ramped up that terrible day and amplified too high. But, your came to that scene, Officer Cook, displaying character and the peace of mind which makes security and safety highlight one another. Enhancement and humility that has society forever thinking about you, Officer Cook. A legend of pride and resolve allowing us to freely pursue happiness. The shades and windows close at night and open soon after in the early morning revealing God's splendid glory. A magnificent sunrise and brilliant sunset. Too bad, Officer Cook, you can't be here to see these presences despite the fact that your honored and heroic actions saved your fellow officers and the good folks of Dade County from more possible violence. Terror and torment leave a trail full of countless destruction and your response brought a situation to a close, just not the end your family and fellow colleagues would have desired. A man of devotion,faith and goodwill, your life deserved more years to fulfill unfinished business serving. Retirement is a word never to be taken too lightly nor for granted. You were a proud, yet humble individual. Mr. Pearsall you took a good man, honest and hard working from his beloved family leaving them to mourn his loss. Humanity, mankind and the entire nation of public servants suffered a monumental tragedy that awful day. Gallantry forever grabs hold of one's soul. Violence grabs your heart from your chest and twists and turns it round and round. Dade County was under the throes of terror that awful day, Officer Cook, when you came to that scene ready and able to assist your fellow officers. Too bad you had no clue who you were dealing with other than knowing it was some kind of domestic situation. Honor and ingenuity, respect and dignity worked as well as they could with integrity to try and conquer this man who was stubborn to say the least and one who wore a nasty streak on his collar. Your soul, Officer Cook, served, protected and preserved as well as any hero could. Circumstances dictate certain outcomes your family and peers wished the results would have been different instead of your beloved Karen having to bury her beloved husband on his first Saturday and Sunday off. Today, Officer Cook, I celebrated my sixtieth birthday with my wife. It's always going to be so terribly tragic that you can't observe anymore birthdays because of an evil man's hideous violence. Obscenely and plain bombastic his callous actions against a righteous Dade County hero of humility, honesty, integrity and dignity fulfilling your missions of mettle and character to quash and to quiet evil against yourself and your fellow officers while preserving and rescuing the citizens under this coward's attacks on freedom.
