In baseball when a team is being routed and your bullpen is being taxed, there is a saying about taking one for the team. The pitcher stays in even after being pounded by the opposition. Yet, sacrifice and guiding strength of honesty, heart, dignity and integrity requires all heroes and heroines to dig deep. To come through when the chips are down. Adversity and danger are always going to be a living reality. Sometimes you can get through the ferocity of wickedness other moments tragedy strikes a community and you just have to unify to comfort those whose lives were lost in the battle. Your assurances and goodwill, Officer Cook, all heroic and total character that enabled Dade County's folks to succeed in a sharing of sanctity and civility. Your resourcefully faithful soul my neighbor, friend and hero marches upward as Our Creator sends peace and happiness in your family's directions in life and in their journeys. Rest in peace.
