I apologize, Officer Cook, I meant to say evil and harm should not have crossed paths with a man of extreme wisdom, humble vision and gallant maturity beyond your years of effort and experience. You gave your department and family your total package of persevering honesty, trusted dignity and true integrity as your identity. Of course to snuff at violence Dade County required every ounce of your mighty heart and convictions of hope, faith and sanctity transporting your gentle wings angelic in their own way throughout the roads and corners of your community where respect not indifference should be the rule of thumb. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. When heaven came calling for your soul it broke everyone's heart, especially your mother's. What a devout, humble and faithful woman you were Mrs. Cook. I missed you by two weeks from finally meeting you. You had already moved out to San Diego, California. Your letter is forever carried within my heart as is your darling and heroic son's heart and spirit.

Pride is like that ship sailing quietly upon the oceans of the night, its humility, honor and integrity stay hooked to its frames of dignity and wisdom. Your vision and maturity mastered its share of onus, Officer Cook, that you laid down your life as a hero of trust and truth on behalf of Dade County where its folks have never forgotten your pure heart, soul and entire being placed in harm's way to shelter us from adversity. Pure evil that day that struck you down in the youth of your life and service. Colleagues, your family and friends gathered one last time at The Cathedral of Saint Mary's to pay homage to a humbly gallant man defending our liberties and freedoms at stake. You championed goodwill, faithfulness and the hope of all to see their journeys through. Your missions were sadly deemed as complete as God called your virtual soul of validation home to walk a now perfectly pristine beat. The gates are unlocked and those sacred streets are lined with angels men and women tall and humbly proud. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. NW 2nd Avenue and NW 75th Street were abuzz with helicopters and bagpipes wailing literally over a very somber day, tragic and just heinous beyond comprehension and belief.
