Reflections for Police Officer William Coleman Cook

The acoustics in the room must all be normal. A public servant's acumen, awareness and focal astuteness must raise their humility and honesty to a higher level just as dignity and integrity raised your humanely heroic levels, Officer Cook, in order for you to properly secure and serve all Dade County with a sacred bounty of both bravery and boldness. Heaven's has your tireless and unselfish character and its reverence guarding those pearly gates. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

To repeat and to replicate in today's crazy world are most difficult to do. For any wise man or woman the goal would be to stay safe while doing exactly that for those whom you took an oath to protect, Officer Cook. Dade County and your family I believe still feel that resonating pain over your loss, one society realizes was for the civility, integrity and sanctity of humanity's dignity and honesty. Every ounce of hope, goodwill and character was left on those perilous streets by you to rid your community of violence and deliver some relief to all looking for safe havens. A man still young at heart trusted and truthful, lips that spoke the real deal. Cornerstones arranged for a better tomorrow and a future so sincerely shiny. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

When you want something you pay for it. All duly noted and humanely humble public servants are those folks who willingly sign on to perform dangerous assignments and the tasks that lie ahead of their integrity, honesty and dignity. They all figure in the battles over adversity. You kept your cool, calmness and total composure, Officer Cook, an instrumental hero of Dade County and mankind that benefited from your personality and unwavering versatility. The humility hidden within the heart of an angel. You will never be overlooked nor forgotten for trying to stem the tide of evil. And May 16, 1979 was just that day for Dade County, your family and brother officers. A loss to humanity never more felt. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Back in your time, Officer Cook, there was no google, no internet, no face book, you tube, my space and no instagram. Only your radio in your squad car to communicate. If danger, peril and anything else needed resolving and restoring that was your choice of message and no cell phones to dial out. The missions were pretty clear. The journeys patrolling Dade County where you sought to do away with evil and mayhem were filled with stress, duress, unrest and tensions so to speak. Everything regarding your decency, desire and driven motivations was true and crystal clear. Dignity, integrity and heroic honesty beyond any shadow of doubt. You served with brilliance, boldness and bravery backing up your composure, compassion and courage all from your humanely trusted heart of truth not to be overlooked. Treasured and saluted for unwavering and faithfully displaying resolve and character while making a nobly cherished commitment to both pride and excellence. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

In North Miami Beach, Florida there was a helpful young man who lived a life of discipline and dignity and whose devotion was second to none. Yours, Officer Cook, was honorably heroic and fully implemented to conduct all your affairs both humbly, nobly and wisely. A great gentleman whose passions preceded him and with every breath of your being went to great lengths to rescue and preserve the quality of living where your purposes and journeys would have the very same affects upon society. It seems to never completely recover from unadulterated violence which creates a problem that just never seems to go away. Those inclined to committing violence can run and hide but sooner or later the good people who risk their souls will track you down. Dade County has many legends and heroes and heroines, they are angels soaring and not forgotten. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Stop and think before you react. But, do so with extreme caution and determination as it was demonstrated by a noble man in yourself, Officer Cook. So much pride and passion coming from your heroic heart and soul of integrity and dignity putting out those flames that wickedness ferociously leaves behind. Dade County lost a very dear and sacred warrior whose missions and journeys of tranquility were ended all too soon by a man of disrespect and pure wanton violence. Really sad for everyone, your family my neighbor, friend and hero, his own loved ones and your police comrades all dear and nobly esteemed. Rest in peace.
