Today is our day of judgment, we call Yom Kippur when Jewish people ask their friends and God for forgiveness. Officer Cook, you were a first class gentleman, a first class public servant and an excellent and well mannered son, brother, husband and uncle, a great-uncle whose life, career, legacy are all about heart, humility and heroic endeavor. Integrity, dignity and character are all etched upon your ledger where you rest in peace my neighbor, friend, angel and hero. Dade County was spared much worse violence that tragic day on May 16,1979 when you acted as trained and made the ultimate sacrifice of truth, trust, decency and dedication.
