You were not supposed to leave your beloved wife, Karen, alone and your mother, Mrs, Julia Cook,may she and your father, Charles, rest in peace along with you my neighbor, friend and hero. They all knew including Nancy, your big sister that law enforcement was your chosen profession undertaken willingly, unselfishly and without doubt nor hesitation. God called a man of piety, resolve and effort to His castles of courage where your heart, soul and spirit of virtue and humility lie in His arms for safekeeping. Dade County has a semblance of stability and safety because of your precise heroic actions everyday and in particular May 16, 1979. A day you family mourned your loss as did your department and comrades. A good man, gallant and humble, stolen away by one man's sensations for committing violence against a determined leader and master motivator of the highest character and scruples. The day will arrive when you will see your relatives once again, Officer Cook. For the present you and your beloved folks are together catching up on the wonderful memories of your dedication and resiliency. Duty called and your gave your life to serve and save many lives that tragic afternoon.

You can let your mother , Nancy, Mrs. Tidwell know I'm going to dedicate my services that I lead for the Jewish residents and all the folks at St. John's Nursing and Rehab Center in Lauderdale Lakes to your heroic and honored "Uncle Bo." Officer Cook, was not only a fine human being, he was a very poised and trustworthy gentleman of integrity, dignity and character who served Dade County with all his heart, soul and virtuous affection and may Our Lord bless and reward his persistence, consistence and perseverance that was humble and loyal forevermore.
