Yet, you stayed on your patrols, kept your decency, devotion and dogged determination right next to integrity, dignity and reverent character, trustworthy commitment and true convictions that created a sense of hope and goodwill for all Dade County and humanity. After officers are lost while performing their due diligence, departments try to calculate and make various adjustments in technique or in some other way, shape or form to possibly lessen loss of life or injury though they both are going to be around seeing the society we now occupy is deemed a little more perilous. This didn't stop you, Officer Cook, from defending Dade County and it certainly did not sidetrack your honest efforts sincerely appreciated by all who now live on. Memories live on in your family, colleagues of the past and so many, many friends who greatly admired your grit and gumption. Everything was tailor made for you to have a long life and a career where you and Karen should have seen your retirement growing older gracefully as your 50th wedding anniversary was nearly around that corner. Three more years. Instead forty-two and a half years later we must offer a hearty salute for your vision,virtue and valor, Officer Cook, all heart, soul and faithfully built character.
