Usually every Friday, Officer Cook, I travel to Naples, Florida for business and when I return our holy Jewish Sabbath draws near allowing us to recharge our spiritual batteries for twenty-five hours. Police do rest and take their allotted time off as you did periodically. You were so heroic, noble and duly diligent in the duties that involve saving lives. Integrity, dignity and the humbleness of your honesty keeps being rewarded and angelically treasured above. Though your loved ones miss you very much they keep your legacy alive in their hearts. "Uncle Bo" is never far from them. Dade County salutes your guidance and gallantry. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

I know lots of people who think life is a game. Pity on them it's not a joke and it can be downright cruel at times. The years all six of them, Officer Cook, were well worth it as you toiled on behalf of Dade County where its people had your undivided attention to all facts, matters and details of honesty, integrity and dignity all blessed now and for eternity. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. Character fit the badge and uniform of your convictions and commitments to pride and excellence.

Courage outstanding, virtue dignified and full of humane and heroic integrity. Dade County during your watch, Officer Cook, was protected and served by a man whose passions and honor ran along the very same tracks, trails and paths as your tireless and unselfish trust and truth. The journeys you made were sadly ended by one man's fits of more than frustration. His evil took your heart and soul, its humility right from under the presence of your family, comrades and many friends. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

The scoop on crime is morsels and spoonfuls of violence is more than a bit perturbing. Society thrives on the exhibition of silence, peace and stability. The sensations of being mean spirited only exacerbates the will of mankind to promote wickedness. Your hope, faith and due diligence, Officer Cook, helped to foster better relationships and of course served as that bridge to our very futures. Yours was impeded tragically by terror and Dade County, your family and department all suffered such a horrific loss. A man gone too early. Honor, dignity and integrity all usurped by intuitions that were less than the truth and trust that patrols with every human being who answers the calls and serves with a golden heart and soul of character that never leaves them. An angel's soul and spirit now soaring higher each second. Keep watching over your family my neighbor, friend and hero as you rest in peace.

That crime scene squad was what you wanted to join to leave the streets where peril lurked and because of your photographic abilities, Officer Cook, your value, virtue and versatility would have been best served there. Yet, you stayed on your patrols, kept your decency, devotion and dogged determination right next to integrity, dignity and reverent character, trustworthy commitment and true convictions that created a sense of hope and goodwill for all Dade County and humanity. They and your loved ones have missed you more than you can believe. But, angels of heroism secure God's sturdiest of gates. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. Danger and evil did not make you flinch as you hung in there against a very mean and nasty human being without heart and gutless to say the least.

After officers are lost while performing their due diligence, departments try to calculate and make various adjustments in technique or in some other way, shape or form to possibly lessen loss of life or injury though they both are going to be around seeing the society we now occupy is deemed a little more perilous. This didn't stop you, Officer Cook, from defending Dade County and it certainly did not sidetrack your honest efforts sincerely appreciated by all who now live on. Memories live on in your family, colleagues of the past and so many, many friends who greatly admired your grit and gumption. Everything was tailor made for you to have a long life and a career where you and Karen should have seen your retirement growing older gracefully as your 50th wedding anniversary was nearly around that corner. Three more years. Instead forty-two and a half years later we must offer a hearty salute for your vision, virtue and valor, Officer Cook, all heart, soul and faithfully built character. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. Legacies begin as small building blocks and increase as one's development and progress up that humble ladder grows larger too. Violence and evil should never have interrupted nor ended your thoughtful life and a career of scruples, principles and upholding the highest of standards. An angel forever walking a perfect beat in the skies above!
