Police work entails using tactical means to reach a resourceful conclusion to any problem that might arise. Sometimes being taciturn might help out, other times another solution may be better suited. Whatever it took, you utilized your preparations, Officer Cook, as you did for any other occasion. It required honesty, fairness, integrity and dignity to get results. What more could Dade County and its citizens expect? They got peace and calmness, unity with firmness and justice. They received a man of principles, morals and ethics by the book. A gentleman revered by all whose demeanor and fierceness was unmatched as was your unwavering loyalty and valor. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. You can rest assure, Officer Cook, those who have taken over your watch do so cautiously and most prudently. Their passions are being observed by your soul as it ascends higher each day.Your life and career mattered. Your destinies and their missions were humanely meaningful and quite insightful. Vision and wisdom are like those peas in a pod. To be used wisely and in moderation. That's the message in this fight over evil.

Like a violent thunderstorm, violence in this world comes down as hard as an avalanche. You don't need to look any further. When the residents of Dade County saw you, Officer Cook and your patrol car they could only be happy. Having made police work your career as this was your childhood dream to become a public servant, thank God for a mighty proud and humble gentleman of honor and integrity. Dignity drives the desires and foundations o fits loyalest servants of which you were one of them. You were a hero of stellar character, quality in conviction and in commitment to pride and excellence. It all lent credence to your pursuits of happiness while you were trying to maintain civility, peace and liberty foe all. You'll never be far from our hearts and thoughts. Officer Cook, everlasting cornerstones here in Dade County and in a community where you have been humbly saluted and duly honored for courage and bravery will remain as cherished as you will always be. Family, colleagues and friends all loved you and relished your faithfulness to them in times of crisis. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. Fruition may have been complete. Only God knows. Just why did your life have to end so tragically with more left to fulfill? Destiny calls someone must pickup that proverbial line. God has His angelic heroes and heroines of valor who picked up that line and delivered resiliency and resolve like no other. Badge#1664 showed up for work ready and willing to pitch in and get that assignment finished with precision. The Walls of Honor are etched and tell us the stories of humanity and its humility to all calls of professional duty.

Police work is not art. It is only so for sketch artists who draw descriptions of suspected perpetrators. You would have made an excellent crime scene photographer, Officer Cook, if only there was more time allotted to you. Your destinies and their fruition were to clean evil off of Dade County and it streets enabling its fine citizens to live and to prosper more freely and peacefully. The honesty and humility that all public servants must somehow conjure up cannot be taken for granted, nor its integrity and dignity be taken lightly. Violence deserves the highest level of protection and perseverance. You gave your peers and supervisors those assurances and lived up to them in a loyal and resourceful manner. Today, enhancement and the cornerstones of justice, wisdom and vision have been fortified by your admiration, Officer Cook, for a position of responsibility while being brave and trusted in all that you achieved. Twenty-five years of hard work dealing with life and a career where duress and peril bump heads quite often. Far too much for our bravest and most esteemed heroes and heroines like yourself in this never ending pursuit of evil. You performed and wore your uniform excellently and very humbly, Officer Cook. Satisfaction was guaranteed. We wish you were still here. We know God has you surrounded by others who too paid the ultimate price with unselfish loyalty and unwavering dedication. Just learned yesterday of a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper injured on the job, hope he pulls through. You pulled your weight, Officer Cook, with a humble wealth of knowledge and skill, bravery and honor and the dignity and integrity to see your missions of destiny until God deemed them finished. What can one say when a gallant man of character and humility chases after evil in order for peace and unity in Dade County for its residents to take shape? We salute your valor and devotion all coming from your professional assurance, reliance and dedication, Officer Cook, the humility to enhance mankind as all brave and faithful public servants endeavor to do. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. Those blue skies got a little brighter seeing your smile even though that picture of you in your uniform and badge was probably taken over forty years ago. Facts do not change. You were and still are our hero and your family's hero and warrior. They should be proud of your service and respect for humanity. If only others can carry on a classy fashion as you did. Wickedness had better lookout. The good servants are coming to take you down.

Superb and yet low keyed, a humble man of distinction, dedication and determination patrolling and protecting the peace, freedom and rights of all Dade County residents. You were a master at your profession, Officer Cook and why did humility and reward grace your life? It's called having the scruples and principles to back up your colleagues when the call went out. No running away. No dodging. Face to face with the very violence you took an affirmation to clean up from the streets. Personable and efficient. Prudent and calming. A good influence for all men and women to pattern their careers after. Now, Officer Cook, you are being so humbly honored for bravery and leadership that dire circumstances calls for. To take the reins, you must be astute and learn from direction. Life and destiny teach us the relevant moments when action and restraint are called for. Gallant and humane. At times our eyes are filled with tears, no matter we fondly remember you, Officer Cook, a man humble and a loving public servant who made gallantry and integrity matter. All your life and the length of your days you made integrity and honor mean effort and careful thought would be the order of your day and those dangerous missions which you willfully accepted, you faced them straight up with unwavering commitment to character, conviction and the proper morals and professional conduct to bring peace and unity to all Dade County residents. Your colleagues bade you farewell on May 19, 1979, a hero for sure and one day for your family to see you again. Your parents, I'll always pray for you, Mrs. Cook and your beautiful family members that your heroic son, Officer William Coleman Cook, your "Billy," is up in God's heaven smiling down on all of you. His pride and humility, character and charm are safely tucked away in God's eternal shelters where no harm will ever come his way again. You taught us those lessons in life, Officer Cook and now those who serve with bravery, patience and perseverance can hopefully make evil disappear from our midst permanently. Godsends and heroes don't just drop out of God's clearest of blue skies. They are sent here to fight our battles over wickedness. To launch lunacy and its violence into oblivion. Officers try to make known their pursuits of justice and peace and in Dade County, you stated your case for concern, Officer Cook and backed it up with heroic humility, dignity and the integrity that all honest public servants must share among one another. Deceit and conceit cast shadows of doubt over those men and women who betray their badges. Your uniform and badge, Officer cook ,were worn soundly, proudly and very capably. No doubt about your fine upstanding character and the commitment to make things normal as possible. Always fondly treasured for having your journeys in their proper perspective. Laughter and the burdens of sorrow all have a point. You were an engaging and jovial young man, Officer Cook. Though, you took care of your professional business cordially and with a caring approach. If police officers need any pointers on how to be considerate they need not look farther down that road of resolve,the trails of being tenacious when you patrolled Dade County. Talk is talk. Work and action represent honor, dignity and a classic and humane integrity. It goes a long way toward deciding if peace and its freedom can work as one. You made things happen by being determined, dedicated and loyal to your comrades in this war over violence. Character, class and desire function so much better when they are partnered with the right public servant who was the epitome of efficiency. Ask Reserve Officer Scott Lincoln, your partner that day of May 16, 1979, when you gave your life and career for heroism and commitment. He can tell everyone what a class individual and gentleman you were. Never forgotten. Your valor has validated what your superiors and colleagues all thought of you. Outstanding and endearing.
