Reflections for Police Officer William Coleman Cook

Heaven received a golden angel so precise, prepared and punctual in all that you succeeded in, Officer Cook. Dade County is supposed to get excellence from its men and women of honor and humility. With intelligence, ingenuity and intuition did you humbly assume your roles. They were completed and such a tragic loss to a wonderful young man, a warrior true and tried. The foundations were laid and the cornerstones were forever set down to be diligently supported by public servants giving their lives, hearts and souls. Your spirit observes from above as a gentleman of character rests in peace my dear neighbor, friend and hero.

Most of us have high hopes and perhaps reality is bigger than we can chew. Police must handle everything and its must be done in an orderly and timely manner even if one goes over their assigned shift because as we all realize the public's safety is paramount. Dade County and its security, Officer Cook, were in your humble hands of honor, heart, humility and treasured heroic effort. Badge#1664 was able to comprehend and accept the onuses placed upon your broad shoulders of wisdom and virtue. Thank God you were mature and well revered among your ranks to accomplish such perilous feats of valor and versatility to be solemnly remembered and perpetuated by all who serve this moment. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

The struggles today continue for those upholding your sacred post where truth and trust are quite essential. You put yourself in harm's way, Officer Cook, in an effort to steer evil from our midst and sadly a madman with no remorse, no iota of dignity, integrity and respect who decided the only way to solve his serious problems was to take lives of duly honorable and esteemed law enforcement personnel and your earthly missions here placed Dade County on a higher sphere of safety and a humble plateau of perseverance. The wise are willing to learn and to listen from superiors. This is why you could lead a squad of other fellow officers. The heroism was loyal and determined and the heart and soul were so consummate and noble. Cherished and never forgotten. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

A diamond who shined when hope and fear popped up. Dade County I would suggest was most fortunate to have a man, a warrior of kindness, truth and sincerity among its many heroes and heroines serving their earthly missions with everything honor, integrity and dignity call for. The rigors and roles, the responsibilities and being held accountable because of standards made you the hero and gentleman you shall forevermore be, Officer Cook. Our stability and goodwill blossomed because of your consummate heart and soul of emotion that cared, was considerate and concerned with our general welfare. Never overlooked and duly saluted for protecting our backs and front doors. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Keep looking down on your family, peers who were fortunate to retire and of course friends. Those who saluted and paid their reverence to you for doing your due diligence.
