The honesty and integrity were certainly never absent when you policed and served all Dade County and its folks. When danger and evil are lurking, dignity and humility can at least stem the tide of terror. Nothing can bring back a man of heroic stature nor the humility to stay focused on those difficult tasks of tenacity. You were the quintessential public servant, Officer Cook, whom Dade County and its folks admired and honored. Peace and unity, liberty and freedom need to be exercised righteously and humbly at all times, your very presence lifted the spirits of all mankind who dared to dream and pursue happiness with the waves of dignity and integrity brushing up against them. No more violence. Turmoil and evil must be reigned in for fruition to branch out its successes. Only good women and men of stellar character, the quality of courage and the balances of bravery and boldness need apply. Facing certain life and death predicaments requires that certain unique skill where serenity and security, prosperity and safety can be gently lifted up. You lived a life and passionately pursued a career in law enforcement with dignity, devotion and decorum that was determined and dedicated to the causes of justice and peace. Unity can only grow and multiply if the sum of the parts are fairly dispersed. The more humility and faith one has in their endeavors, the more successful he or she will be. The outcome as we all wanted it to be on May 16, 1979, was for Mr. Pearsall to surrender without demonstrating violence towards you and your colleagues, Officer Cook. And for his girlfriend and those civilians involved in that bitter domestic dispute what a shame. Evil is never any means to resolve any circumstance and for your valor you deserve hearty salutes for creating an atmosphere of calm. I meant to say for justice never injustice, I by accident ran the two words together. Gallantry, guts and glory, police as all public servants must have and share together the responsibilities of fighting off evil and violence as one department, not going off and acting as one. Honorable and dignified intentions are the keys to successful resolutions.
