Police clock in and then it's off to the races of resolve and resourcefulness shielding the public from nuisances that evil sets off. Like a ticking time bomb, domestic squabbles, disputes, discord can amount to mayhem and mischief that often leads to tragedy. You were Dade County's personable public servant, Officer Cook, whose convictions and wisdom were right on target. Wonderful character, concentration, care along with diligence the offshoot of honesty, morals and the integrity of humble and unselfish humane dignity. You fought for peace and serenity never batting an eyelash and kept our lives civil and serene. No one knows what happened that really set that troubled young man off to take your life and nearly those of your comrades. You were a humble man, Officer Cook, who fortified your exploits with a little effort and efficiency all in the good name of heaven. It awaits the most valiant and humble of both heroes and heroines whose character and dignity have reflected how they lived their lives. On the tennis court, Officer Cook, you enjoyed your games with Officer Keith DiGenova and on Dade County's streets it was all business, boldness and nobility. Vandalizing one's final resting peace steals their humility, honor and unwavering bravery. So I am very glad I was able to get the cemetery to replace your badge with a replica of Dade County. Although, I'm sure, Officer Cook, that having a copy of your heroic badge placed down on the cross would be preferable. Nevertheless, you were your community's hero of the highest regard and unquestionale resolve. When one places integrity and dingity on the line to save and to serve the public we must be very careful to offer them solemnly humble salutes of duty when called for. Everyday one wakes up is like a rebirth unto itself. Our Creator takes our souls back to heaven to judge them and gives them back to us in the morning. For all the character, fiber and morals, Officer Cook, you served the people of Dade County proudly and most humbly. Today, is a sad day for your birthday would be joyfully celebrated with your beloved Karen and your many family members. I think a cake in the shape of a tennis court would have been very lovely.
