Reflections for Police Officer William Coleman Cook

A snail's pace does not work so well in the fight for peace and serenity. Officers must be frantic and ferocious in their efforts to calm down people and restore order. Bedlam and kayos must not have liberties to go wherever. In Dade County, Officer Cook, you provided wonderful and meaningful honesty, dignity and integrity all in God's heavenly name. Cherished and admired for being a humble hero with a humane commitment to seeing justice dispatched smartly and rightfully. Never forgotten. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. The causes were present and you acquitted yourself, Officer Cook, wisely and with wisdom and vision to see your travels through.

Gallantry and honor are not gift wrapped and handed out. One must earn their stripes and rewards for reverence and resolve. All integrity, dignity and character has to be channelled from within that servant's heart and soul of serenity. Sometimes the secrecy is better told of a loved one by those who live on to treasure their memory. Your life and career, Officer Cook, protecting Dade County residents stands tall and humble as does you hope, mercy and commitment transmitted to other brave and loyal comrades of class and civility. Our safety and unity were brought about by long and diligent work employing the best of boldness and the finer points of perseverance and persistence. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. At least, Officer Cook, the heart of a hero and its soul, your beloved soul shine on forever illuminating God's eternal shelters of safekeeping where nothing will ever harm you anymore.

Police work is like a ferris wheel that spins around as all honest, brave and devoted public servants race to those dangerous calls where almost anything can happen. And it is up to them to serve, protect and even sadly enough make that ultimate sacrifice in order for peace and unity to follow along in the footsteps of ferocity. Always the loyal and faithful servant, Officer Cook, you kept character, conviction and commitment attached to your person at all times.
