It make one's heart go cold when thinking of how you lost your young life, Officer Cook and a police career destined for humble greatness ahead of you. But, we the people can remember this, your honesty, integrity and dignity fortified your desire and dedication to live up to courage from your compassionate heart, the bravery and boldness that your navigations delivered. Dade County was brought harmony , tranquility and the serene pursuits by which we can continue with our aspirations. Your heroic and humane achievements will not go without a vigorous salute of humility. The representation of fierceness and unwavering and unselfish character that helped to stop this very violence. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. It's right there engraved, etched and cemented in stone your valiant life, career and a loving family and comrades who miss you so terribly.

Daily diligence pays dividends as long as one is straight and honest in their endeavors. To crush violence you must have not only brave and valiant personnel, they too must be trustworthy and responsible to meet the demands to carry out tasks that link up to safety and tranquility. Dade County got your best interests, Officer Cook, along with commitment and dignity, integrity as humble and humane that befits a hero of wisdom and transparency. Resolve, resiliency and resourcefulness need to be at the top of every honorable and dignified public servant's daily agendas. They go together along with vision, bravery and integrity as well. You contained violence as well if not better than most officers, Officer Cook and the citizens of Dade County owe you a heroic debt of thanks. You persevered and protected with such tenacity that the forces of evil and those winds of wickedness were pushed away. No man of ingenuity, and intelligence all from the values and morals of excellent character shall be forgotten. Serenity and peace were given to those whom you loyally served. Today, nearly thirty-nine years later after you gave your life, Officer Cook, your commitment to both pride and excellence stands as the cornerstone of your humble and humane crusades. Implanted in your integrity and humility, Officer Cook, was your duly honored dignity and the desire to get peace and unity placed forever on the maps of Dade County and its citizens who were looking for some resolve. The character and commitment of one special servant who navigated and nourished folks with good talk, but action to accomany those words. Action does the talking. Walk the walk. talk the talk, in fairness to all stay within your limits and endeavor to calm folks down during times of strife and crisis. You performed marvelously, Officer Cook, saving your comrades and those folks affected by that ugly domestic discord which took your soul away from your family and friends. Domestics were your expertise, Officer Cook, everyday when public servants leave their homes, kiss their spouses goodbye, we never know if they are coming home. God takes control of our ventures and virtues of vigilance. Yours were directed at surrounding the folks of Dade County with nothing but the gentle breezes of serenity and security for one and all. All led by your sterling character, integrity, dignity and honesty. The words of the righteous speak loudly and clearly. Just a crying shame you could not be present, Officer Cook, to witness these and many other positives all through your sacrifice, humiity and humanely heroic actions on society's behalf. There is no looking back. Only to admire and humanely recall your feats of ferocity and bravery, Officer Cook, geared to saving Dade County and its folks from further peril. Precise and pristine was the uniform and badge you donned as a reminder of your heroism. History will tell us of your nobility and humble pride in excellence and in honor that sets most heroes and heroines apart. If everyone could have some sense of decency and dignity this fight, this war over wickedness might end sooner rather than later. Nevertheless, your family misses you very much, Officer Cook, their knight in shining armor. But, the institutions of integrity, ingenuity and intellect are something to behold especially when a devoted and dignified public servant carries out his responsibilities to the letter and does not teeter on the brink false bravado. You saved Dade County and its residents, Officer Cook, from surely more harm on May 16, 1979, than we could have ever imagined. Any incident where gunfire threatens the peace and unity of any given community are deemed dangerous and must be stopped. Its conclusions must be prompt and profane. All the effort and proficiency must be poured into one's labor of love. You cared about life and the morals which you were raised with should be saluted. One's humility on humanity's behalf should be so deservedly honored and they are for they made a distinct impression upon those enhancements which you so gallantly anchored down.
